Simon Field discusses his work at the British Criminal Journal in his book "Influence of Temperature on Crime". The field study is focused on the locations of England and Wales. The weather variables used in his study include: rainfall, sunshine hours, and temperature. The time frame used in this method is based on quarterly police data and monthly data (Field, 1992). Like the investigation by Horrocks & Menclova, Field found a positive relationship between high temperature and property crime. As the temperature rises, people spend more time at their homes, which also increases the property crime rate such as car theft and theft (Field, 1992). The James Horrocks and Andrea Menclova branches of Canterbury University investigated the impact of the weather in New Zealand on crime. Figure 1 shows the incidence of violent crime in Finland between 1996 and 2013, and Figure 2 shows the correlation between the monthly average temperature and the number of violent crimes.
