The Effect of China's One Child Policy

The future of Chinese people China is the most populous country in the world and there are amazing 35 billion people. If it was not a family planning policy implemented under Mao Zedong on September 25, 1980, this number would be greatly increased. This is population control work, it is considered to be very successful for the Chinese government. But the definition of success is different in many countries. For example, in the United States, it usually ends with a positive result. The disadvantage of this attempt to control the population is far beyond professional players.

In this paper, I will explain the influence of China's one-child policy. Literature review gives a detailed explanation of the authors' views in various documents on this topic. I analyze important topics in the text and compare their different views on each topic of the paper. The one-child policy was originally introduced in China between 1979 and 1980, during which China's population occupied a quarter of the world's population. Zhu (2003) explains how the government is implementing this policy to improve living standards by suppressing population growth (Hesketh et al., 2005). Following the Communist revolution in 1949, the country experienced many economic and social reforms, which brought about a large increase in the population due to a reduction in its mortality rate (Nie & Wyman, 2005).

China's one-child policy was enacted in 1979 by the Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping to limit the population growth of Communist China and limit the couple's birth to one child. It is designated as "temporary measure", but it is valid for more than 35 years. Fine during pregnancy for the second time, termination of stress during pregnancy, even even forced women's sterilization. Officials have been reported for a long time that they forced abortion on unauthorized pregnant women and imposed high fines on illegal families. In 2007, riots occurred in the southwest China autonomous region of Guangxi province, some people including population management staff may have been killed.

China's one-child policy can not be ignored. This is because the influence of that policy on the population can not be ignored. This policy was first introduced in 1979, and scholars and economists have discussed these influences over more than 30 years. Its purpose is to control population growth to better manage economic and social factors such as low standard of living, limited natural land and artifacts, and low level of poverty. In China's one child policy, couple and civil servants in urban areas manage children to give birth. For example, except for a few groups, couples without brothers and sisters and couples living in rural areas account for nearly two-thirds of those affected by this reform. (Reference) (Hesketh, Lu and Xing, 2005) Overall, the reform had many good and bad side effects on China and the rest of the world.
