Ecuador's crisis Ecuador's economy has undergone a major change since it first entered the world market. It enjoys the prosperity of an unprecedented period based on exports. The first two growth periods were characterized by a boom of cocoa production and a banana explosion of the 1950s at the beginning of the century. However, the biggest and most influential boom is due to the surge in oil prices in the 1970s. This period clearly brought benefits to the elite and even helped the public in a certain way.
In response to the crisis of the Washington Post, Dylan Battle encountered a family stuck at the border with Ecuador and raised funds to escape by selling television, home electronics, computers, motorcycles. We needed money and a family patchwork clone to buy a bus ticket from Venezuela to Lima, the capital of Peru. Now their appearance to find a normal life is getting shorter. On Wednesday the Ecuadorian authorities called for an emergency regional summit to enable Venezuela and its neighbors to jointly review the crisis. Yukiko Iriyama, the representative of the United Nations refugee agency in Colombia, says, "The seriousness of the situation requires a comprehensive regional approach."
On March 6, 2008, after the Andean diplomatic crisis of 2008 Ortega announced that Nicaragua is breaking the diplomatic relations with Colombia "to unite with the people of Ecuador." Ortega also said, "We have never broken relationships with Colombian people, we are breaking the terrorism policy implemented by the Alvarourob government." The relationship was restored at the Rio Group Summit held on March 7, 2008 at Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. A handshake was held publicly at the summit meeting of Alvaro Uribe in Colombia, Rafael Correa in Ecuador, Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, Ortega. Shaking hands of live broadcasting in Latin America seems to indicate that the military strength of the week and diplomatic influence have ended. Following the handshake, Ortega said he would rebuild diplomatic relations with Colombia. Uribe then joked that he would send him the airline cost of his ambassador.
