In 2017, the library staff team wanted to learn more about the 1 G students at Duke University. The team reviewed the literature and interviewed colleagues in other libraries who did similar studies. Later, the team worked with the campus office to learn about the overall situation of 1G students, including services, scholarships, support from other groups on campus. The library staff worked with 1 G students in 6 focus groups and analyzed the comprehensive survey results of 1 G respondents by the 2018 yearly user survey of the library in the first generation of respondents It tracked. The 2018 user survey contains a series of questions about how students are looking at the library and confidence in the use of library space and services.
