The Drama Triangle and Empowerment Dynamic

A terrible drama triangle (DDT) TM is a toxic interaction of three different characters; the persecutor, the victim and the rescuer (aka Kapoman Theater Triangle) first detailed by Dr. Stephen Capman in the 1960s

The central role of DDT is the victim. In the role of the victim, you may feel that someone else or situation is acting against you, you can not take action against it. Sometimes it feels like it is being attacked, but sometimes it is difficult. You may get abusive or discounted and become unwieldy. In TED *, the creator's role is to detox the victim's role in DDT.

The second role is the persecutor or perpetrator in case of abuse. The persecutor is the cause of the victim's dilemma. In TED *, the role of Challenger is an antidote to the role of persecutors in DDT.

The third role is a rescuer who intervenes on behalf of the victim to protect the victim from the persecutors. Rescuers may have their best intentions, but their actions release the victims from liability, thus strengthening the mentality of their victims. In TED *, the role of the coach is to detox the role of the DDT rescuer.

This throws an interesting and complex question, how do you shift from terrible drama triangle to empowerment dynamics? How will they change from the victims of their environment to the creator of their environment? How to change from a passive attitude to an instantaneous attitude? How will the boss and employee thinking change from leadership-led attitudes, including all the challenges of this change, of fear of change and resistance, obvious confusion, people's identity, and self-worth? These are the issues I will cover in future blog posts (Parts 4 and 5).

The core of TED * (* The Empowerment Dynamic) is to learn how to change from choosing our response to life events to selection. Empowerment Dynamic is an antidote to the drama triangle (initially explained by Dr. Steven Kapman) and its three victims (the main role), the persecutors (the victims are due to their suffering) Toxic effect step) In order to reduce the suffering of the victim) TED * represents the transition from the triangle of the play to empowerment by creators, challengers and coaches who play more role of resources. Regardless of the situation, people living and working based on the TED * framework must learn to choose their response to life.
