The Distinct Epic Format of Ovid's Metamorphoses

Ovid's unique epic format Ovid's "transformation" is sometimes considered a non epic and a real epic. Because Ovid's theme is far from the heroic theme of "Illiad", "Odyssey", "Aeneid", this is mainly considered non-epic (Keith 237).
