It is very difficult to quit smoking. Statistically, smoking is the most dangerous thing we can choose for our own health. However, so many people are still smoking. The author acknowledges that he is also a smoker, but as a smoker, I think it is a shame when there is one. This is a personal choice in my life, but there is nothing to abide or quit other than social pressure. Smokers make up 23% of Canada's population, and the most likely smoker is defined as those who smoke daily (Statistics Canada, 2000).

All research smokers admit that it is very difficult to quit smoking. In a study of 365 students in the New Haven area, students who smoked at the age of 1 to 5 years experienced extreme cough and shortness of breath (Krogh, 63). However, these teenagers have the same problems as adults. . Smoking is the leading cause of male lung cancer. Statistics of lung cancer patients are lower. Increasing the number of cigarettes consumed per day increases the risk of lung cancer (Health services: 59). Another major health hazard caused by smoking is coronary heart disease.
