The development of the science, technology and society curricula in Nigeria

The STS education that has emerged globally as a result of the necessity to make science a human effort and pay attention directly to science, technology and society is well documented in the literature. Given the obvious gaps, imbalances, and contradictions between science and technology and the traditional environment for developing countries, the need for such education is even more urgent.

The focus of science curriculum began in the 1970s and shifted to a science course entered into Nigeria.

The STS curriculum developed and implemented at two universities has had some success and shows that STS has great potential in educational systems. Efforts are being made to open the course at the secondary level

Nigeria formulated a national science and technology policy that recognized the strategic importance of the technical sector in national development. The Nigerian science and technology innovation policy clearly shows that there is a long contradiction between domestic economic planning and science and technology and there is a commitment to building the technical capability necessary for developing the modern economy I admit it. Nigeria has the highest incubation / innovation center with expertise and economics of dental technology, has accepted and supported full utilization of technology at home and abroad. I would like to say that lifestyle Nigeria is heading towards the next technology frontier.
