Wikipedia defines an operating system as a collection of software that manages computer hardware resources and provides public services to computer programs. The most common operating system in the world is Microsoft. On 20th November 1985, Microsoft unveiled Windows. By accounting for over 90% of the world PC market, Microsoft overcame other operating systems such as the MAC operating system quickly. MAC has existed for a long time, but it was released in 1984.
Such a problem led to the development of the operating system. The development of operating systems and the development of computer systems, the way users use them and their expectations are closely related. The next step is an overview of the computing system in the past 70 years (again, many are skipped, the goal is to show the concept of evolution rather than a complete history process). ENIAC (electronic digital integrator and computer) can be said to be the first general purpose electronic computer (initially a really big image, but its existence has been kept secret for decades). It was made for a very special purpose: to calculate the shooting table for the military. Considering temperature, wind direction, ammunition type, these shooting platforms are used for battle to find the proper gun elevation.
First, I will outline the history and development of the operating system. We will continue to explain the role of the operating system, determine the main purpose, and explain four of them in detail. Then I will review the available operating systems and complete them by summarizing them. First, computers do not have an operating system, and those who handle them need to switch many switches on and 0 or 1 or binary different states to execute just one line of code. This problem is solved by placing work on input media such as tape, punch card, and tape. These media can not be executed only once, and the results are displayed on the same medium and printing paper. Early operating systems include the FORTRAN Monitor system for IBM 709 and the GM operating system for IBM 701.
