Classical Athens is an era filled with superstitions, participation of cult activities, and interesting ideas. From the mystery of Eleusinian to Panathenaea, the classical Athens germinated at the festival and cult worship. The worship of Dionysus in Athens is no exception. Dionysus is a god of wine, drama, and regeneration. Several people, scholars and non-scholars think that he is the god of the last Olympics, even though he is mentioned by the God of other Olympics in Linear B. He accepted the worship of the country, and through his Athenian classics, his evidence of worship and the importance of Greek society and religion stand out.
Dionysus encouraged mysterious worship before the creation of Athens' Bacchus Theater. The mysterious admirers practitioners expressed sadness in the ritual of God's winter's annihilation and happy welcoming of the return of spring. The believers of Dionysus are both women and men, and it is often said that they are crazy or drunk. Some female believers known as Menad are famous for running in the forest, shouting, dancing, eating living animals, decorating grapes and grapes (some people say it's crazy) . By consuming living animals, adherents of Dionysus can "gang" their gods themselves.
Background and origin Dionysus is not a Greek god. His worship is rooted in Thrace (northern Greece), Frigia (modern Turkey), or perhaps Crete. Many Greek city states initially rejected Dionysus' cults due to diplomacy and cruel sickness of Dionysus. When cult organizations first arrived in Rome, believers opened secret celebrations. However, in Greece and Rome, Dionysus' worship broke the resistance and acquired many believers. The most common myth about the origin of Dionysus is that he is the son of Zeus * and the son of Siebel, the daughter of the founder of Thebes. Zeus' wife, Hera wants to know the identity of a child's father. She disguised as an old nurse at Semele and went to see Semele. When Semele told her that Zeus was his father, Hera requested to prove that she is claiming to make Zeus appear in all his glory. Semel did this.
