He must continue this relationship and remain disloyal to Elizabeth 's supervisor, or decide whether to end with Abigail and make up for it in Elizabeth. John wisely chose to be loyal to his wife and left Abigail in a foolish manner. The other option John Proctor did in this play was that he was not the only one to consider accusing the court. But Elizabeth told the chief that he did not do it, but he eventually told the court about the truth about the relationship with Abigail.
