The Creation of Enkidu

Creating a story is a symbolic record of how the world and its inhabitants create. Since these stories were originally developed in oral traditions, stories from various cultures and societies come from many sources. The creation story of Babylonia, the creation story of Genesis, and the story of Sumer's creation story Enkidou are examples of these and similarities are interesting. As Dennis Bracher said, "Because of the many similarities with the description of Genesis, some historians believe the description of Genesis is simply a rewrite of the Babylonian story.

There is no doubt that Gilgamesh received a short shot as a leader. Prior to meeting Enkidu, the elders asked his leader and said, "Is this the king or the shepherd of his people?" Even if killing Humbaba is meaningless, this case is a direct cause of Gilgamesh's heroism expansion. Enkidu died in his injury in the fight against paradise bull sent to punish the two murderers. His death brought a new look to Gilgamesh. This is the love and sad aspect that Enkidu had never had before.

In these epic, the hero is with them in their adventure and journey. In the epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh has a barbaric Enkidu created by goddess Aruru. Enkidu seems to be a wild beast than a man, but Gilgamesh sends a prostitute and turns him into a man with him and no longer lives with these animals. They can not become real friends until they fight each other. It helps Gilgamesh to get better. Enkidu does not like the way Gilgamesh deals with women and wedding receptions, Enkidu stops her when he tries to sleep with the bride. They fight, but Enkidu loses fight instead of robbing his life, Gilgamesh forgives it and learns his shortcomings from this experience. In the Odyssey, Odysseus accompanied his fellow colleague as his friend to accompany him on his journey.
