The Control Processes of Short and Long Term Memory

Working memory has three important things: it has limited capacity for a limited period, and is very unstable.

Memory search is a process of storing information stored in long term memory. Some theorists believe that there are three types of memories: sensory memory, long-term memory (LTM), short-term memory (STM). Only data that is processed by STM and encoded in LTM can be obtained later. In general, the mechanism of memory is not fully understood. However, there are many theories about memory retrieval. There are two main types of memory retrieval: recall and recognition. In retrospect, you need to retrieve the information from memory. Presentation of familiar external stimuli is recognized to provide clues to information that has been seen before. A hint is any stimulus that reminds people about objects and scenes, or related things. When a search prompt is presented to allow the subject to quickly access information in memory, recall can be assisted.
