The Contributions of Isaac Newton

Newton, Sir Isaac (1642-1727), mathematician and physicist, one of the most important scientific intellectuals in history. He was born in Woolthorp near Grantham, Lincolnshire, where he entered Cambridge University in 1661. He was elected a scholar of Trinity College in 1667 and was elected professor of Lucas mathematics in 1669. He stayed at the university and lectured most of the time until 1696.
