The Construction of New York's Empire State Building

Since its establishment, the Empire State Building has captivated millions of visitors each year. This building is not only a landmark and a symbol of the country of New York, it is also a symbol of a human trial to achieve impossibility. The Empire State Building was completed in 1931 during the Great Depression in New York. That name comes from the nickname of New York State. Built at the World Trade Center in 1931, the North Tower was completed in 1972 and has become the tallest building in the world for over 40 years. As the World Trade Center was destroyed in 2001, the Empire State Building became the second highest building in New York.

Due to the destruction of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11 attack, the Empire State Building once again became the tallest building in New York City, becoming the second tallest building in the USA, second only to the Willis Tower in Chicago . The Empire State Building remains the tallest building in New York until the new World Trade Center reaches a higher level in April 2012. As of July 2018, it was the second tallest building in New York City, the second largest after the World Trade Center 1 building 432 Park Avenue and 30 Hudson codes. It is the fifth highest skyscraper in the United States behind the two tallest buildings in New York, Willis Tower in Chicago and Trump International Hotel and Tower. In October 2017, the Empire State Building is the 28th tallest building in the world, the highest being Burj Khalifa of Dubai. It is also the fifth tallest independent building in the United States, behind the five tallest buildings and CN towers.
