Senator Henry Clay said he wanted to do the right thing than president to find a country that solved the burning problem in the mid-19th century. Clay lost Zachary Taylor in the 1849 presidential election but he decided to find a solution to the general discussion of the United States on whether to extend slavery to the new territory. The Guadalupe-Hidalgo Treaty officially concludes the war with Mexico, and the political war in America is becoming an increasingly bigger problem.
Compromise in 1850: The compromise plan of 1850 was an eight-part compromise plan designed by Henry Clay to solve the land conflict between North and South. As part of the compromise, California was approved as a free state, a more stringent escape and slavery law took effect. The District of Columbia abolishes slave trade, slavery itself is not abolished, and some of peace returned to the northern and southern states a few years later. But the problem of slavery eventually led to future conflict.
As the confrontation between the north and the south became increasingly intense, a compromise of 1850 occurred and tried to please both sides. The compromise includes the recognition that California as a free state and inter-state slave trade was abolished, which is beneficial to the north. The compromise also includes the South including the more rigid fugitive slavery law, the creation of New Mexico and Utah has no slavery limit. Compromise seems to solve the problem of slavery, but it just restores the problem. North and South are far from solving slavery problems
A compromise designed by Henry Clay was executed on September 9, 1850 to ease the tension between the North and the South. There are five compromises. The first point is that California will join the union as a free country. The second point is that Texas abandons government land. The third compromise is to decide whether all new territories that join the labor union will become citizens' sovereignty freedom or slavery country. The fourth compromise is to ban all slave trade in Washington, DC. Finally, the last compromise in 1850 was the adoption of a new escape slavery law. It pointed out that anyone who helped slaves to flee the North would face severe punishment. It also states that slaves of any country (no matter where in his country) can return his master. This compromise was one of the factors leading to a civil war because of angering the North and South.
