The Child Abuse Epidemic in the United States

According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, three million people are suspected of abuse in 2013. Out of 3 million referrals, 899,000 children have been officially recorded as abused (abuse and neglect of 2015). Child abuse is child abuse. Child abuse has various forms of abuse such as physical, emotional, sexual, and negligence. Children who are being abused in some way tend to withdraw from their colleagues and sometimes withdraw from other families who do not know what is going on.

Child abuse is prevalent in many countries and the United States. Children are presumed to be abused in any way every 13 seconds: physical, sexual, emotional or negligent (Friedman). Every year in the United States there are reports of abuse of over 3 million children, including more than 6 million children. Child abuse can be alleviated by appropriate parental education and public awareness raising. Child abuse is physical, sexual, emotional abuse, or child's negligence.

In the United States, child abuse is a public health crisis. The prevalence and annual incidence of the population have reached a fashionable percentage. Child abuse is also a multifaceted phenomenon. According to definition, it includes physical abuse, sexual abuse, ignorance and emotional abuse, each with various root causes. These different kinds of abuse are never mutually exclusive, not just a group of specific people. Certain types of abuse may become mainstream in certain groups, but incidents involving various kinds of abuse occur in all groups.

Child abuse in the United States is prevalent. The number of cases reported each year and the number of missing children are increasing. This main reason is the lack of education for various types of child abuse and the subsequent signs. The community needs to provide more resources to better educate the public about the type of abuse and the associated signs. Child abuse can be reduced by increasing resources, increasing education, reaching out to others. In Ohio, about 139,000 annual cases of child abuse and ignorance have been reported, and 72,000 cases are thoroughly investigated (Ohio Children 2012).
