Amontillado's Cask is a short story by Edgar Allan Poe, first published in November 1846. It tells the story of Montresor during carnival in a city without the name of Italy. He is seeking revenge for Fortunato who insulted his nobleman. He decided to trade with him, with the love of Fortunato wine, and got him into his cellar. So it was said that he reserved a passage for Amon Tillard. He wants his opinion about wine as he has questions about quality.
This is murder, but it is not a madman. The murderer said to him 50 years after the crime, so that most of the claims of the narrator are somewhat unreliable - and finally this is the subjective interpretation of the story. A set (underground wine cellar), time (carnival), color metaphor (black silk mask and colorful costume) and subtle murder confession (I will never die of coughing)
In fact, the wine barrel plays an important role and is interesting for those who love Sherry. Futunato commented on another nobleman who was unable to distinguish Amontillado from Sherry. This may sound odd, as Amontillado is actually a subtype of Sherry, but remember that Shelley's current classification is up-to-date.
In the 19th century, 'Sherry' is generally regarded as brown sweet Oloroso type. In the early 1940s, a pale sherry (aged with flor) born at San Lucas, Manzaniya, Jerez wine cellar of the 1940s, duplicated these techniques and produced the first fino. Wine however, its subtle feature means that they are not suitable for transportation and are mainly consumed locally.
This term is often interpreted as "in the style of Montilla" pointing to the next D.O. Montilla Moriles known for its lighter wine. It is not entirely certain that various production technologies are the basis of this etymological interpretation. In fact, Montilla wines must be transported to Cádiz port via Andalusia. This trip was a shopping cart, it lasted for several days in hot weather. new style? Like the East Indian Shelley, it becomes a style. In any case, Amontillado is considered an exclusive wine, that is why Montresor is worried that he may pay a normal Shelley bucket to Amontillado.
