The Bontoc People

The word "Bontoc" comes from the two morphemes "bun" and "tuk" representing "heap" and "top" (Andres 2004). "Igorot" is a generic term for people living in mountainous areas of the Philippines. Bontoc Igorots refers to people living in mountainous areas living in an area currently known as the Bontoc area. Bontoc Igorots is a unique Filipino community with a unique culture. This unique culture is reflected in people and their living conditions, economic, religious and religious practices.
