The Body, Meaning and Symbols in Medical Anthropology

In the course of researching medicine from an anthropological point of view, several topics have repeatedly encountered. These include the body and its expression, meaning and human reactions to its meaning, and finally symbolic images that make up and form meaning and body expression. Each of these topics is covered in medical anthropological texts and has been established and mutually associated and established in various ways. Because the body is home to all cultural practices, the body is a seat of medicine.

Most of social and cultural anthropology majors are representative, but the main strengths of interdisciplinary subjects are applied anthropology, medical anthropology, political anthropology, and symbolic system. Teachers are interested in medical anthropology such as aging, modern and past epidemiology, health systems in Africa, health problems in developing countries, etc. Applied anthropology is the main focus of four teachers, and other socio-cultural anthropologists often involve policy and social problems. Many of the graduates who got more degrees have worked in applied research and fields other than academic fields. Four teachers are interested in symbolic processes and give cultural meaning to the existence of the world and humans. Their research focuses on methods and theories, other aspects of religion, art and culture, and culture and language issues.

Anthropological symbolism covers a wide range of human life, from the importance of the body to the color, worship of idols and religious symbols; their distinctive features are that they are not unique It means that it represents something. For example, red is associated with the dangers of many societies. Instead, it can also be seen as the color of luck and marriage in Chinese and Indian culture. For Catholics, bread and wine symbolize the body and blood of Jesus Christ, and in the process of participating in these elements believers will commemorate the sacrifice of Christ.
