The 16 th century was a turbulent period in England. Until the reign of Henry VIII, for many years the country has maintained a firm position in its Catholic faith. Historically, a notorious monarch with six wives founded a new church without pope 's control. Therefore, the British Church or the English Church was born out of evolving European reform. To understand the division of the Catholic Church, we need a short monarch history. Henry Tudor was born as the second son of King Henry VII. He became the heir of his brother 's death in 1502 (Philips 99).
There are several major problems with King Henry VIII and the Catholic Church. His wife hopes his marriage will be invalid as his wife has no son, but the pope refuses to invalidate it. Henry got angry about this and began to reform the English church. He urged the National Assembly to sign the Supreme Act in 1534, and he completely reigned the British National Church. Then when he realized that he was unable to lay a son, he continued to marry a few women, divorced and beheaded. Eventually, the sixth wife bore Edward VI.
In England, King Henry VIII started the British National Church. He wants to divorce his first wife, but the Pope does not allow it. Initially, the church of the King Henry VIII of England church was very similar to the Catholic church. The main difference is that the king is not a pope but a church leader. Later, under the rule of my son Edward VI, the British National Church became more reformed or Protestant. Anglicans and several other Protestant denominations still believe that they are Catholics after reform. Puritan appeared among Anglicans who believed that the reform was not enough
In England, England's Henry VIII declared himself the highest leader of the English church, passed the highest law in 1531, founded the English church, suppressed the Lutheran reformers and the faithful to the Pope did. Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Cranmer introduced the reform with a compromise between Calvinism and Lutheranism. For the declaration of the Pope 's innocent doctrine propaganda by the first Vatican Council between 1869 and 1870, the former Catholic church was divided from the Roman Catholic Church in the 1870' s. The term "old Catholicism" was first used in 1853 to show that Utrecht's Utrecht was not affected by the pope's authority. Negotiations between independent ancient Catholic bishops and Utrecht were in progress, but the ancient Catholic movement grew in the United States but did not maintain contact with Utrecht.
