Advantages of fuel cells as energy The purpose of this article is to explain why fuel cells are good energy sources. In principle, the fuel cell operates like a battery. Unlike batteries, the fuel cell does not need to be turned off or charged. The first part defines and explains the energy source. These three subsections are how they work, our future, and the future of fuel cells. In the second part, the two selected criteria are defined. These two standards are environmentally friendly and reliable.
Fuel cells are devices that convert chemical energy into electrical energy. Fuel cells are similar to batteries, but require a continuous fuel source, usually hydrogen. As long as there is fuel, they continue to generate electricity. Hydrogen fuel cells have been used to supply power to satellites, capsules, automobiles, boats, submarines, etc. (Figure 6). The voltage is about 0.9V. Fuel cell efficiency is typically about 40% to 60%, which is higher than typical internal combustion engines (25% to 35%), and in the case of hydrogen fuel cells only water generates as exhaust gas . Currently, fuel cells are very expensive and contain functions that cause failure in a relatively short period of time.
It is a molecular component of water, it is one of the most valuable energy sources. Hydrogen is used as an energy source for fuel cells and batteries. It burns more efficiently with fuel cells than gasoline. There are few automobile manufacturers that manufacture hydrogen-fueled fuel cell vehicles, but not many. It can prove that it is one of the best fuel sources for cars. In the United States, most natural gas is produced domestically. It is extracted from gas wells and is obtained from crude oil production. It is better than gasoline and diesel. Performance, clean burning, domestic production, and less emissions. The most advantageous part of using this fuel is that it can reduce carbon monoxide by 90% compared to gasoline and diesel.
