The beginning of the revolutionary war was primarily the British attack, victory at Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill and Long Island, evoked the urgency and nationalistic needs of the colonial era. Throughout the colony, the Tory party and the royalists elected to stay faithful to the UK and the patriots chose to defy the overwhelming British government, more generally "non-representative taxes". Connecticut is a temporary power that supplies clothing and food for the majority of the mainland, but because it forbids the Conservative Party to have any form of public office, it turns out to be mainly Anti Terry Party did.

They are a family of four with two children (Tim and Sam) and their parents, Eli Palette and Susanna. Known as Eliphalet, or "Life" is a diligent worker and possesses a bistro with his wife Susannah. Susanna is a good mother, worried and trying to love her children. Tim is the voice of a novel, and everything is seen through his eyes. During the novel he was a young teenager, looking at his family's change to a family torn apart in the war from a happy town family.
