The battle of San Jacinto was the most decisive part of the Texas Revolution. Mexican Army Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna and Texas General Sam Houston senior commanders of the opposing forces fought. The war ended at the battle of San Jacinto, where Sam Houston general led the Texas army to beat some of the Santa Anca Mexican armies arrested right after the end of the battle. The end of the war led to the establishment of the Republic of Texas in 1836. In 1845, the US Congress approved the Texas Government petition.
