In addition to their great contribution to science and technology, many Chinese-American also are excellent in art and literature. Maya Ying Lin is already a legendary character in her own era. At the age of 21 she worked as a monument to Vietnam Veterans Memorial Monument, a student of architecture at Yale University and one of the most visited National Monuments in Washington DC. After a great success, she continued to design the Atlanta Civil Rights Memorial, a huge outdoor sculpture commemorating the history of her alma mater, and a commemorative sculpture at Pennsylvania station in New York.

As far as the monument is concerned, the Maya Lynn Vietnam War memorial memorial has made a big difference across the general design. Maya Lynn first won the design competition to make a monument, but the masses' strong protest against its non-traditional design including civil servants who call the wall "black shame" made her design Lynn until it reached it . Compromise to acquire Frederick Hart, the third point of compromise, to win $ 20,000 prize money to produce "3 military" four times the number that Maya received

A negative reaction to the design of Maya Lin caused a controversy, and Frederick Hart (who won third in the original design competition) made a statue of sculpture in a heroic tradition and reached a compromise. Those who opposed Lin's design wanted to place the sculptures of the three soldiers at the apexes on both sides of the wall. Rin strongly opposed it, thinking that the soldier would be the focus of the monument, and her wall is just a background. In order to compromise, sculpture was set aside to minimize the impact of adding to the forest design. On 13th October 1982, the American Art Committee approved the setting of a flag rod combined with sculpture.
