The Art of Criticism

The Republic of Plato is mainly based on order and responsibility. The only morality of this society is to deal with the relative function of social members. Example: A man killed another man. Art criticism is discussion or evaluation of visual art. Art critics often criticize art in the context of aesthetic or aesthetic theory. The aim of art criticism is to pursue a reasonable basis of artistic appreciation, but it is questionable whether this criticism can exceed the social and political environment at the time. Various art movements divide art criticism into different fields and each can use different criteria. The most common disagreement in the field of criticism is historical criticism and evaluation, a form of art history, and criticism of contemporary works by artists.

As a literary style, art criticism took its modern form in the 18th century. A British painter, Jonathan Richardson, first used the term art critique in his "Review of All Art Papers" published in 1719. In this work, he tried to establish an objective system for ranking of works of art. Seven categories including painting, composition, invention, and coloring are scored from 0 to 18, and combine them to give the final score.
