Ironically, in his life, he did not recognize anything and just sold a painting. Van Gogh was repeatedly deprived of all the occupations he was trying to pursue, and he was totally disliked by other people.

During his ten-year career (1880 - 90), he produced nearly 900 paintings and more than 1,100 pieces of paper work. Ironically, in 1890 he humbly rated his artistic heritage as "very small."
