The Appalachian Mountain Region covers an area of 205,000 square miles and extends along the backbone of the Appalachian Mountains from southern New York State to northern Mississippi. The population is over 25 million people. This region is blessed with natural resources and has some of the richest deposits in the United States (Daugneaux 1981). Coal, wood, oil, natural gas and water contained in the Appalachian mountains are historically resources that affect the economic characteristics of the region. The region's economy depends heavily on mining, forestry, agriculture, chemical industry and heavy industries, and coal mining is the largest contributor to the economy.
The Appalachian Mountains (French: les Appalaches) is often called the Appalachian Mountains and is a mountainous region in eastern North America. The Appalachian Mountains were formed for the first time in the Ordovician in about 480 million years ago. Before experiencing natural erosion, they once reached an altitude similar to the Alps and Rocky Mountains. The Appalachian chain forms a series of alternating ridges and valleys, as opposed to most highways and East-West Railways, which is an obstacle for east-west travel.
I crossed the Appalachia mountains many times and smiled in the mountains we call the East. I came out of cold spells at the National Security Agency and the Naval Academy School and amazed at the small Delaware. I have heard all variants of New England accents and my pronunciation "Bango" has been fixed by over a dozen people. I have crossed the Mississippi River and the Great Split many times, so I lost the count. I hoped to travel around Texas once an hour and feel the sweet embrace of death. I saw poverty in Pueblo, New Mexico. I saw collapsing buildings and living ghosts in the desert of the town, 100 miles away from the next living tomb.
New England is part of New England Province, Appalachian Mountains, New England Highlands, Lowland exotic terracotta areas. The Appalachian Mountains are almost at the border between New England and New York. Massachusetts State and Berkshire State, Connecticut State, the Green Mountain Range and the Taconic Range Vermont Province form the backbone of the Precambrian rock. The Appalachian Mountains extended north to New Hampshire, became White Mountain, and entered Maine and Canada. Mount Washington in New Hampshire is the highest peak in the northeast, but it is not one of the top ten peaks in eastern United States. It is the second highest wind speed recorded on the earth and has the reputation of the worst weather in the world.
