The Appalachian Culture and Its Territory

The Appalachian population extends to 13 states in the United States, including Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Maryland, New York . State and Pennsylvania These areas are divided into the North Appalachian Mountains, the Central Appalachian Mountains and the South Appalachian Mountains. West Virginia is the only state that is completely within the Appalachian Mountains 1 These people encounter varying degrees of environments in the mountains, valleys, and rivers.

West Virginia is a unique culture in Appalachia culture, and Appalachian culture has culture of the south of America and a certain quality. Pennsylvania is 50 miles away from where I grew up, but if I have familiarity around the South Henner and home feeling, that is more than I live in Pennsylvania. The South Appalachian region is mainly defined by mountainous areas. Therefore, its boundary is ambiguous and its definition is different for each purpose. In this discussion, the South Appalachians include West Virginia, Southwest Virginia, Kentucky Eastern, Tennessee, North Carolina Western and South Carolina, Northern Georgia, Northeastern Alabama. Figure 1) This is mainly due to the example of social definition following Appalachian Regional Council (1973) and climbers and guerrillas (Mastran and Lowerre 1983). While all areas of the South Appalachian Mountains can be said to be part of other regions or countries, common features and identities as regions require investigation of the entire South Appalachian Mountains. In addition to the mountain landscape, these areas have a common history, cultural exchange and prehistoric isolation are alternately repeated.
