The American Revolution: NOT Really Revolutionary

In the late eighteenth century, colonies were fighting for independence; they oppressed them, taxed them, and basically fought for a revolution from the government that ensured them. So why is the new government they are making very similar to the government they dislike? 13 colonies are fighting a common enemy and managing them in some way internally creates many obstacles. The new government is tied to the only political regime that even monarchically regime.

What we call the American Revolution is not really revolutionary, at least when it is happening. The military struggle from 1775 to 782 was not done by the "American citizen" who tried to establish a unified continental cross-country republic. Rather, it is a very conservative strategy carried out by a loose national military alliance, and each alliance is most relevant to maintaining or reaffirming its control over its respective culture, personality and power structure.

Some also argue that the American revolution is not a true revolutionary movement. They believe that the American Revolution did not establish a new country. The new government was founded by the same social elite who had power before the revolution. They pointed out the French Revolution and claimed that it is not a real revolution because it is a standard "real" revolution for anyone and the American Revolution likewise does not share dramatic and direct changes . However, although both descriptions are correct, they missed the fact that American society has undeniable change. It is a direct influence of the American Revolution. The government's foundation, the abolition of northern slavery, and the transfer of land ownership to the broader, more middle class new ideals has a wide range of social and political implications.

The explanation on the influence of the revolution varies. The American Revolution does not fundamentally change the colonial society, it just replaces the distant government with the local government. Recent ideas pioneered by historians such as Bernard Bailyn, Gordon S. Wood, Edmund Morgan and others argue that the American Revolution is a unique and extreme event. Based on the principle of republicanism such as the natural rights of the people and the legal system selected by the people, it produced a big change and had a great influence on the world situation.
