Friday, March 5, Alamo hosted the "Alamo" exhibition of John Wayne for Alamo during Alamo Movie Night. The film of 1960 was held by Sam Houston (played by Richard Boone) and entered the town with the instructions of William B. Travis (acted by Lawrence Harvey) Houston told Trabis he needed him to buy his time so that Houston could complete the task of building an army for Texas. As Alamo was besieged in March 1836, voting support for an independent Texas conference chose Houston Commander Houston. After the devastating failure of Alamo, the 1812 war veterans ordered a series of strategic recessions. His men are not welcomed, but this strategy allows Houston to train his well-equipped and unfamiliar troops. On April 21, 1836, when General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana camped on the banks of the San Jacinto River, Houston completely occupied the Mexican army. Stimulated by the fight "Remembering Alamo", 800 soldiers in Houston broke twice the size force in only 18 minutes. Forced to spectacular defeat at the Battle of Saint-Jacquint, Santa Ana was forced to sign surrender and cease-fire agreement to Texas independence
