The Aftermath of the Holocaust in Art Spiegelman’s Maus Volumes I and II

Through art illustration and imitation, Art Spiegelman wrote a graphic novel about the lives of his parents Vladeck and Anja before and during the Holocaust. Spiegelman 's Maus, Volume I and II have examined the emotional struggle that his father failed to recover from the trauma he suffered during the Holocaust. In the novel, Vladek was unable to deal with the fear he faced during his imprisonment he empirically separated from his son art and the tragic death of his wife.

Art Spiegelman's Maus is a famous cartoon book that won the Pulitzer Prize. This book was published in 1986, Volume 1: "The History of My Father's Bloody", Volume 2, Volume 2: "My problem begins here" published in 1991. It was later integrated into the volume. The book tells Spiegelman to write about his father's experience and experience itself during the Holocaust. There have been plenty of massacre books for decades, but the mouse differs in every book. Art Spiegelman used comic groups in his graphic novels, Maus and Maus II, to remember his father's experience during the Holocaust period. His parents and brothers experienced genocide throughout their life and his family was severely affected by the time they spent in concentration camps. Spiegelman decided to consciously and carefully use the comic team to draw the mouse version of his father Vladek Spiegelman. His work features his father's work and looks back on his past experience. Holocaust is also common in other art forms, such as paintings, paintings, photography. Unlike other works, Speigelman's works use mice rather than humans, and in comic format they use words and their own black-and-white photos. His technique is easier to express than a single picture or picture, and you can expand stories through multiple panels.

I mainly use Art Spiegelman 's MAUS: A Survivor' s Tale (1 and 2) to teach this graphic novel to higher grades through the Holocaust research unit. Units include research on graphic novels and research on historical events surrounding the Holocaust. I also created a companion CD called The Complete MAUS (now out of print) using Art Spiegelman. This includes the main sources of Spiegelman's non-fiction, historical graphic "Fiction", including Spigman and his father narrated by Fradeck in the center of the story.
