The gap of achievement faced by the low income, African-Americans, Latin America's population is undoubtedly a complex problem. It is defined as "difference in academic performance of different student groups". Much of the data on the achievement gap is from the National Educational Progress Assessment (NAEP) also known as the "National Progress Report." According to some reports, these students are in a disadvantaged state and continue to receive school education thereafter (Learning Point Associates, 2003).
We will talk about educational gaps around the world, gap of opportunity, gap of skills, gap of ethnic education, gap of achievement, gaps between wealthy people and poor people. These gaps are problematic and a major task that requires a lot of work. The National Education Association (NEA) provides the following list of demographics data affected by current gaps in the US educational system. Otherwise, the same problems as most of the problems that exist on the planet will occur. To make matters worse, we will continue the problem rather than a skilled problem solver who graduates from our school and is anxious to solve these problems.
The gap of academic performance (or the achievement gap of education) can be defined as "difference in academic achievement among student groups" (Education Week 2011). Usually measured by SAT-Scholastic Aptitude Test. This gap varies greatly depending on the level of the students and subjects. Furthermore, it is clear that the same applies between men and girls in mathematics. So far, many people emphasize that there is a gap in math achievement between men and women. According to the University Council (2011), the average score of girls in the SAT math test is lower than that of men (see Figure 1 below). In this report, analyze the data to identify the main causes and show some recommendations for this gap in the US.
