There are many discussions about the accuracy of eyewitness testimony in the criminal justice system all over the world. In particular, the discussion included false beliefs caused by false eyewitness testimonies (Areh, 2011; Howitt, 2012; Nelson, Laney, Bowman-Fowler, Knowles, Davis & Loftus, 2011). The purpose of this paper is to consider psychological studies on the accuracy of eyewitness testimony and its position in the criminal justice system. First of all, this article will explain how witnesses and their testimonies are used in the criminal justice system, and discussions on their use today.
