The 1980 Summer Olympic Games Boycott

The 1980 Summer Olympic Games were held in Moscow, Russia. However, in late December 1979, the Soviet Union called on Afghanistan, an important place for resolution between Asia and the Middle East, to establish an important position in the country. The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in December 1979 proved that it did not affect all Olympic athletes, but it resulted in a larger situation - the 1980 Olympic boycott. However, the popularity and economic success rate of the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984 exceeded expectations.

During the oil crisis of 1973, Arab countries imposed an oil embargo on the west side. Other examples include the US-led boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 1984 led by the Soviet Union, and the movement to South Africa apartheid in the 1980s.
