The 1970's A Time of Awareness

The 1970s was an era of political, environmental, and technological consciousness. This era will provide information and inventions that positively shape the future of America to American people. Consciousness brings optimistic thinking and change. This is what happened in the 1970s. Political perception brings responsibility to governments and politicians. Environmental awareness brings consumers and government responsibilities for energy usage. The invention of the 1970s was the foundation of the technological era that Americans relied on everyday.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the awareness of the victims has increased during the 1970s and 1980s after the civil rights movement. In 1972, the FBI established the Behavior Science Division (BSU) to study the relationship with the dynamics of criminals, victims, and social groups. The police will gather at the FBI headquarters in the Judy branch of Virginia for training. During these training sessions, the police began to notice that they saw a different pattern between the victim and the criminal. BSU studied the relationship between these patterns and victims and criminals. Along with BSU, several independent victim support organizations such as mothers for drunk drivers (MADD) and parents of murdered children (POMC) were established. These groups are working together to make the relationship between victims and offenders used in the current victim theory clearer.

From the 1920s to the 1970s, the plight of the widow's wife was rarely heard. However, due to three factors, it was rediscovered. (1) Kempe and Helfer (1963) published a paper on child abuse syndrome. This evokes a general perception of domestic violence. (2) Because of the civil war and the Vietnam War from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, the country became more aware of violence. Along with the full development of the Vietnam War, the 1970s began with the essence of disillusionment and frustration in American culture. Hollywood celebrated the lowest time, but in the late 1960s creativity grew sharply in the 1970s due to changes in language, gender, violence and other powerful themes. The US anti-culture encouraged Hollywood to take a greater risk to new alternative filmmakers. The resurrection of Hollywood in the 1970s was based on the creation of images for young people with rapid movement. In many cases, new and astounding special effect techniques were used.
