Thain Wendell MacDowell

Winner of the First World War Victoria Cross. He served as a captain of the 38th battalion of the Canadian expedition. On April 9, 1917, Captain McDowell arrived in Germany with the help of two players in front of a company in Vimyrique, France. After destroying the machine gun, he chased the crew from other people and found a German who entered the tunnel. Sean Wendell McDowell was born in Ruckert, Quebec on September 16, 1890. He spent his early years in the Brockville area, was educated at the University of Blockville and participated in the 41st Blockville Rifle. He then joined the University of Toronto where he joined the Canadian officers training for four months as the Queen's own rifle army officer. After acquiring a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1914, he took part in the 38th (Ottawa) Canadian Infantry Battalion (now Ottawa's Cameron Highlander (Den Edinburgh's own long-term coaching)).
