Texas Culture When three of us decided to use Texas as our microculture, I thought that was a good idea. Immigrants made Texas a crucible of culture from all over the world by participating in the traditional culture of Texas established in the 18th and 19th centuries.

A changing culture? Since the mid-1970s, Texas experienced massive influx of people from other countries, and more recently from other countries. There are several important questions regarding Elazar's assessment of the conservative political culture of Texas: How long will a specific socio-cultural influence last? Is the past cultural influence replaced by new influence? Does Texas' cultural identity primarily come from the 19th century and will survive indefinitely in the face of extensive urbanization, industrialization, education, communication and demographic change? In the country of Lone Star, will moral culture settle and prosper?

College sports has an important meaning over a wide range in Texas culture, especially football. There are 10 I-FBS schools in the state, which is the largest school in the country. Four state universities, Baylor Bears, Texas Longhorns, TCU Horned Frogs, and Texas Tech Red Raiders participated in the Big 12 conference. Texas A & M Aggies left Big 12, joined the Southeast Conference in 2012 and invited Big 12 to participate in TCU, but TCU previously met in Western Mountain. Houston Cougars and SMU Mustang will participate in American games. Texas Bobcats and UT Arlington Mavericks will join the Sun Belt Conference. Four schools in the state will be awarded at least one National Football Championship. Texas Longhorn, Texas A & M Aggies, TCU Horn Frogs, SMU Mustang.
