Testing Human Memory with Gabor Patch

It is easy to judge whether the Gabor patch is tilted to the left or tilted to the right because the Gabor patch flashes quickly on the screen, but it is not that easy in practice. Past researchers have pointed out how work memory affects human task performance. Other literature reviews include ways in which the human visual system tracks changes and notices the difference in stimulation. Finally, early literature on humans has completed tasks similar to those of research, including studies of Gabor patches.

These studies used tools of visual science, and the participants had to make a rather boring decision about the presence of Gabor's spots (a small black and white line). By manipulating the contrast of the Gabor patch (Figure 1), its spatial frequency (Figure 2), or the time displayed on the screen, you can see that playing action video games improves some aspects of vision . Improved visual functions include (i) contrast sensitivity or the ability to differentiate between different gray levels (Figure 3), (ii) crowded vision, or the ability to analyze details with cumbersome situations. Every character seems to be confused with each other. (Iii) to be able to visually obscure or to see and recognize a very short visual stimulus. Some of the participants in these studies even complained that they can see a 60 Hz flicker from the computer screen through computer games!

I did two different short-term memory tests. The first short-term test was to test 20 objects on the computer screen for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, I was asked to write down all memorized items. After writing down the memorized content, I was instructed to go to another screen and display the object again. I only remember 5 out of 20. The second short-term memory test consisted of numbers. I saw a series of numbers and gave me 10 seconds to study the numbers. After 10 seconds, I was instructed to enter the numbers I observed. I got a very high score in this test.
