Testing a Hypothesis on Guns, Education, and Race

The US Bill of Rights includes a second amendment that allows citizens to have the right to possess weapons. This will be converted to the right to own a gun for personal use. Some Americans believe that having a gun is the way and necessity of the way in society. In the US, 43 states out of 50 states enacted by the state constitution confirm that citizens own guns for personal use, not members of military soldiers (Winkler, 2007). This is free, but the deaths of many Americans with guns are still one of the highest forms of death in America.

A hypothesis (complex hypothesis) is a recommended explanation for this phenomenon. For the hypothesis to be a scientific assumption, the scientific method calls for people to verify it. Scientists often make scientific assumptions based on previous observations that can not be fully explained by existing scientific theory. Although the terms "hypothesis" and "theory" are often used synonymously, scientific assumptions are not the same as scientific theories. A practical hypothesis is a provisionally accepted hypothesis for further research starting with an educated speculation or thought process.

What is a hypothesis? Hypothesis (complex hypothesis) is a description of recommendations for observation. The definition depends on the theme. For example, in science, assumptions are part of the scientific approach. This is prediction or interpretation by experimental test. Observations and experiments may deny the scientific hypothesis, but it does not prove it completely. For example, consider a possible relationship between good sleep and good grades. The null hypothesis states that "the number of hours students sleep is unrelated to their grades" or "there is no correlation between their sleeping hours and grades." Experiments to validate this hypothesis include collecting data and recording the average sleeping time and performance of each student. If an 8 hour sleeping student is better than a student who usually takes 4 hours of sleep or 10 hours of sleep, that assumption may be rejected.
