Information Privacy The privacy of student names associated with data stored in computer systems is called information privacy. Information privacy relates to the privacy of personal data collected by various organizations for personal use. Personal information can be stored in medical records, political records, criminal records, financial data, web site data, or business related information that needs to be preserved protected.
The view of the Internet and digital privacy is different from the expectation of traditional privacy. The privacy of the Internet involves mainly protection of user information. Law professor Jerry Kang explained that the term privacy represents the space, decision-making, information. Regarding space, we expect that individuals will not invade their own physical space (house, car, etc.). Symbolic case Roe v. Wade best describes the privacy of the decision. Lastly, the privacy of information includes collecting user information from various sources.
As with many web sites that collect user information, every SNS has a privacy policy. The privacy policy is a disclaimer that informs users about how the SNS handles the user's personal information. By agreeing to the terms of the policy, the user will delete certain known rights that he may have. Users do not know whether SNS respects their privacy policy. In addition, these policies are subject to change at any time by SNS. SNS also does not recognize the terms of user details shared with third parties. Facebook, MySpace and Friendster have confirmed that users can share information with marketers through sponsorship groups and other offers such as contests and sweepstakes. Therefore, even if the user applies the most restrictive privacy setting, the user can not fully manage their personal information. According to the Terms of Use of Facebook, content uploaded by users is the property of the site.
