Tennessee Geography

The various ranges of the Appalachian mountain range cover one-third of the eastern part of Tennessee, such as baldness, the Great Smoky Mountains, Holston, Stone, Yunka, Unicoi Mountain Range.

The Klingman's Dome (6,643 feet above sea level) at the border with North Carolina State is the highest point in the state. In fact, it is the third highest point of the Appalachian Mountains; the only mountain Michelle is in North Carolina (6,684 feet), and the mountains. The Gulf Plain spans the southern provinces and spreads to the south of Illinois. In Tennessee, the plain started at the west of the Tennessee River, and the land gradually flattened as it approached the western end of the state. In the Southwest corner (near Memphis), it will be a lowland floodplain of wetlands that terminates along the steep cliffs of the Mississippi delta.

According to Derek Aldman, head of geography department at the University of Tennessee, the United States has about 900 streets named after the King. After his assassination in 1968, cities across the country named his name and began renaming. It is also in countries like Italy and Israel. In 1968, Martin Luther King was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee and helped sanitation workers strike.
