Tennessee & the Civil War

During the Civil War many fights were held in Tennessee. The state 's main campaign involved the battle of Hilo in the battle of Shihe, Chattanooga, Nashville, and Franklin. (Read more information on Wikipedia). Tennessee is the last state to leave the league, left on May 17, 1861. The state first joined the federal state on July 24, 1866.

The purpose of this site is to provide information and records to support civil war research related to Tennessee.

The civil war has occurred in thousands of places, from southern Pennsylvania to Texas, New Mexico to the coast of Florida. Most of the battle took place in Virginia and Tennessee. The civil war is controversial in the Atlantic Ocean which is far away from the coast of France, the Gulf of Mexico, the Mississippi River and its tributaries. During the Civil War, about 620,000 soldiers died of combat, accident, starvation and illness. This figure comes from war research conducted by William F. Fox and Thomas Leonard Livermore in 1889. Both fought for the league. Their estimates come from detailed studies of the battle and casualties records generated by the military during the 5-year battle. According to a recent survey, the death toll has reached 850,000.
