Teens and Social Media

Social media plays an important role in connecting young people with new friends, allowing young people to learn more about new people and deepen their understanding. About two-thirds (64%) of young people met new people online and they said they met new people on social media platform. Two-thirds (62%) of teenagers said they shared contacts with social media user names with new friends.
