Gender and Illness From the beginning of the semester, we have worked in groups to complete an interim report based on selected topics. I am a member of the gender group of the new century. As a group, we focus on three major categories: sexual behavior and sexual orientation, pregnancy and abortion, and finally sexually transmitted diseases. Sex is an important element that most companies and advertising agencies use to sell their products. Therefore, our audience (the age we could get old) is a real victim.

Sexually transmitted diseases are prevalent, especially in adolescence. Most young people become sexually active between the ages of 12 and 19. (SEICUS) Young people of this age should concentrate on their education rather than sex. In such a case, there is a possibility that disease can spread easily because there is time to spread to other partners in contact with illness. Youth accounts for 10% of the US population and 25% from 20% of sexually transmitted diseases. There is already sexually transmitted disease in the rate of 1 in 10's. Most teenagers think that sex will be safe when using condoms. Studies have shown that the risk of sexually transmitted diseases decreases only by 50% even with 100% condom use in sexual activity. (Marnie)

The basis of educating children about sexual activity is helpful in preventing unprotected sex, teens pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases (STD). According to the article of the American Journal of Nursing, the comprehensive sex education in 2007 reduced the likelihood of a teenage pregnancy or infant partner by 60% compared to young people not receiving sex education. In this study, 1,719 young people between the ages of 15 and 19 were investigated. The potential cause of this difference is that comprehensive sex education teaches adolescent contraception, which may increase the possibility of being used only to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
