Teachers Meeting The Challenges of Student Disabilities

In this chapter we will explain the many challenges that teachers face in teaching various disabled students. Apart from teachers who understand the exact needs of the students, most teachers employ methods that are useful for learning. The teaching method has been changed according to the nature of student's physical disability and the requirements of the subject. According to reports, for some government universities parents provide assistance in the laboratory due to lack of support staff.

In the inclusive classroom, special education teacher teaches students with disabilities in general education class. They work with general education teachers to present information in ways that disabled students can understand more easily. They also help general education teachers adjust the curriculum to meet the needs of students with disabilities in the classroom. Teachers of special education work with students with various disabilities of psychological, spiritual, physical, and learning. For example, some people work with students who need assistance in this field, such as reading and mathematics. Some highlight students' learning skills, such as highlighting text or using flash cards.

The increase in the number of students with disabilities participating in higher education and the diversity of these obstacles are casting challenges for higher education institutions to meet the unique needs of these students. Academic guidance is known to be effective in improving student success and is a way to help meet the needs of students with disabilities. This paper introduces academic guidance models of students with disabilities, discusses the theoretical foundation for model development, and summarizes the results of project evaluation.

Especially for full-time teachers, studying with disabled students is very difficult.
