Taking a Look at the Mahabarata

Mahabharata is one of the excellent texts of Asian philosophy. It is one of two main texts that influence the philosophy and culture of India and Southeast Asia (1). This is a historically important epic, covering most of the ethical and religious teachings of Hindu culture through stories and lessons (2). In Mahabharata there is Bhagavad-Gita. It is located in the middle of the epic and contains only about 700 poems (3). Compared to the whole Mahabharata, this is only a small part.

In Hinduism there are two wonderful epics that show virtues and ideals important to religion The first is a story about the prince named Rama Yana, Rama and his wife, Shita. Hinduism is not only one of the oldest and largest religions, it is also thought to be the most complicated religion (McDowell, 2002).
