Jakarta is the most populous city in Indonesia and it is a crime prone area. The crime of Jakarta is directly related to population growth and urban development in the metropolitan area. Therefore, Jakarta is no longer a safe city. Now, Jakarta has reached a city with a high crime rate. The crime itself means that it is not a genetic event (born, inherited) nor a biological legacy, it is an infringement of illegal behavior and social norms, therefore this society disputes.

Violence in Jakarta and other cities during the G8 summit in Birmingham in England was only one of the frontier and central theme themes. Initially, a summit was held to tackle issues such as international crime, financial problems in Asia, relief for African debtors. However, these negotiations were hijacked by a series of political crises including drama that Indonesia is developing on the eve of the summit talks. The Summit was aimed at Indonesia's riots, the Indian nuclear test and the next settlement of bankruptcy in Northern Ireland

Settlement means that the city is gradually sinking. Jakarta sinks an average of 7.5 centimeters per year, and it sinks to 25 centimeters per year around the coast. This is faster than Venice in Italy. Because Jakarta is the most populous area in Indonesia, most of the sinking is due to the large-scale development of groundwater from under the urban area. The land reclamation project is a part of the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development Plan (NCICD) originally called "Great Garuda" and aims to help drain the water from the city and slow down settlements. However, the land development project was handed over to the city council of Jakarta, environmental experts including deputy director of the Indonesian Environment Forum (Walhi) said land exploitation itself is not useful for solving the settlement problem.
