Taiwan Perspective

Taiwan's view on US policies indicates that we support the "one China" view, but if the mainland of China starts attacking, we will protect Taiwan. So we can fight China. When we control and win the war, Taiwan will become a free country, but the price is the burden of the US. And how long will it last. The future of Taiwan should depend on Taiwan. Taipei has huge financial preparation; Washington should help the island consume it from Chinese invasion or attack by selling them the weapons they need.

JY: When I attended elementary school, Taiwan experienced great social unrest. The ruling party's oligarchy was forced to give up power. For Americans, I think it's like seeing Cuba after Castro. From a right standpoint, Taiwan left the United Nations in the 1970s, so we are not legally recognized as a state. Today, Taiwan's passport can take you to 140 different places. From my point of view as a citizen of Taiwan and a professor of philosophy, the way that Western media report on Taiwan constitutes a philosopher's so-called cognitive marginalized textbook paradigm.
