Compassion Derek Bentley made him own a movie in a movie telling us about the story of 19-year-old Derek Bentley and 16-year-old Christopher Craig. The story is about misjudgment that causes Derek Bentley to be hanged for not committing a crime. The story took place in London in 1952. Christopher Craig said that Derek Bentley was accused of killing PC Sidney Miles. Peter Medak took this movie to prove that the capital punishment is wrong, probably to make Bentley's name clear.
One example is Derek Bentley. 19-year-old Bentley and his accomplice Christopher Craig are messed up at a sweet shop at the age of sixteen. Derek Bentley was caught and Craig took the gun. Bentley told Craig: "Let him own it", and Craig drew the trigger of PC Sydney Mills to kill him. Bentley was detained at the time at the time, but Craig was only 16 years old, he was accused of murder because he was too young to be executed. Police said that he signaled Craig to shoot the police when Bentley told him to "let him possess it," but another explanation seemed more reasonable. Even though Bentley reveals that he is epileptic, his mental age is 11 years old. Finally, after he was hanged for 44 years he was exempted from murder.
The case of Derek Bentley is an example of retali- tism. This incident brought extensive controversy in the 1950s and attracted media attention. Derek Bentley was sentenced to death for being allegedly beaten in the warehouse of Sari Croydon, but in fact his accomplice Christopher Craig stabbed and killed the police. Bentley was sentenced when he told friends that he wanted to hand guns to police as he encouraged Craig to "scout him for it". Craig was only 16 years old and he was a minor, so he could not receive the death penalty. Derek is 19 years old, so he will be sentenced to death even if he has 11 years of spiritual ability; during the trial the jury did not reveal this fact. If we are not shot by the police, the case can be said to have different results.
